Overview

This photo was taken at around 12 o'clock in the morning, in my hometown. It was one of those days, for me, where you just can't get to sleep, and you really want to get off your computer and do something productive or just different from playing video games, or watching YouTube, or Netflix.

Originally I wanted to go and try to do some astrophotography, but I quickly learned that I was not good at that, and I didn't really enjoy doing it either.

I left my house and walked down to a street corner that was less than a block away from me. It was a 4 way intersection without stop signs, but it never had too much traffic, and it was 12 o'clock too. I spent about 2 hours setting up my camera. I wanted to just try and capture an image underneath a street lamp that overhung the intersection. Most of the 2 hours was spent of me running back and forth between posing and adjusting the camera's position or settings.

After about 200 different images I settled with this one and went in heavily on the post editing to really get my lighting the way I wanted.

I love this image because it captures exactly how my mood was the evening I took the photo. It was peaceful and I was just in my own head trying to figure things out.
